Oh, this is going to be fun. I will do my best to get a video clip on here. Basically, the best way to knit the purl row is Continental style. This means you will hold and wrap your yarn with your left hand. Controlling the yarn with your right hand just means adding one more challenge to the mix. Builds up your brain! This is not a new technique.
Basically, to knit the purl row, I find it easier to hold the yarn in the left hand. You wrap the opposite direction…WAVE CRASHES AWAY on the knit and WAVE CRASHES TOWARDS YOU on the purl. You are working right to left now because you are essentially moving all the stitches on the right needle back to the left needle. You are also stretching your brain by forcing yourself to knit and purl backwards. Plus you learn a lot about how the yarn wrapping impacts the outcome of the finished stitch. Nothing says fun like untwisting all your twisted stitches!
