Only a few rows of Penelope are done today. I spent the afternoon learning about carding machines and plucking wool. That is my defense and I am sticking to it. There is a group of women who grow dye plants, spin the wool and then natural dye skeins. Do I have a sample? Nope. I just have some wool. Went to the shop and completely forgot to buy a skein. Again, my concern was for the happiness of the yarn. Would I actually knit something? Will it ever get that cold in So Cal? I am all about utilitarianism, but I should’ve bought the skein. We could have put snippets in a memory book. Well, I guess I am just going to have to plan another holiday in MA 🙂
